Ami Shah LEED AP

Ami is a principal and firmwide Health Education practice leader based in Atlanta. A veteran architect and lab planner, she has extensive experience assisting universities develop cutting-edge spaces for educating and training doctors, nurses and allied health professionals. She advises on projects across HOK and leads teams focused on designing new and innovative solutions for the rapidly evolving field of health education.
Active in the design community, Ami has presented case studies at Tradeline’s University Facilities and International Research Buildings conferences on the University of South Florida Health’s Morsani College of Medicine and University of Chicago’s William Eckhardt Research Center. She recently coauthored an article on “Future-Proofing Medical Schools With Flexible, Adaptive Design” for Spaces4Learning.
Ami is passionate about diversity and inclusion. She serves on HOK’s Diversity Advisory Council and has collaborated with team members on HOK’s firmwide employee opportunity surveys and the firm’s Diversity x Design scholarships for BIPOC and minority design students.
