Roger Schwabacher AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Design Principal
"Designs have specific technical challenges that need to be resolved with creativity and thoughtful pragmatism. While I strive to be more than a builder, infusing every project with poetry and vision, our clients’ success rests on our ability to gracefully solve a building’s complex technical issues.”

Roger is the design principal for HOK’s Washington, D.C., Tampa and Miami studios. He has been based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office since 2004.

Roger’s experience includes architectural, urban and sustainable design for a wide range of building types including government, corporate, higher education, commercial office, healthcare, science + technology, hospitality, civic + cultural, retail and residential. His work has earned numerous awards and has been published in Architectural Record, The Washington Post, Inform: Architecture & Design, ENR, Middle East Architect, ArchDaily, The Architect’s Newspaper, Cityscape, GB+D and Faith & Form.

Roger is a member of HOK’s global design board, the University of Maryland School of Architecture Board of Visitors, the American Institute of Architects and the U.S. Green Building Council.
