After Cisco made a significant investment to acquire a Calgary-based startup, it wanted to create a new workplace that blended its iconic brand with the distinct identity of the startup.

Collaborating with Cisco’s lab specialists, engineers and local leadership team, HOK created a workplace that integrates the two cultures in a high-performance workplace. The new office supports the needs of Cisco’s teams while maintaining the startup’s whimsical spirit.

Project-specific spaces include an elaborate server room, “aka the Lab,” that is key to the group’s product development work and business growth.

The intense technical requirements of the space required HOK’s team to coordinate the work of many consulting firms throughout the design and construction process.
