As part of the NewYork-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center, the Integrative Health and Wellbeing program provides personalized, comprehensive care for the mind, body and spirit.
Located on the third floor of the Koch Center with its own street entrance, the space is an urban sanctuary within New York City. Services include medical consultations, nutrition, psychotherapy, mind-body health, acupuncture, massage and pain management. It features a meditation garden, resource library, group exercise room, education rooms, exam rooms, acupuncture and massage rooms, support areas and a nourishment station.
The design celebrates holistic health and embraces a fusion of healthcare, hospitality and wellness. The space’s calming interiors highlight the influence of nature on the healing process. Natural materials and paint colors, greenery, vivid artwork and nature-inspired tactile elements put patients at ease.
Curved surfaces and soft indirect lighting guide people through the space, with comfortable seating and plentiful daylight to create a peaceful environment. Wood furnishings and details call to mind forest bathing, a Japanese method of preventive healthcare and healing.
